Malayattoor gears up for Feast of Low Sunday

MALAYATTOOR: Elaborate arrangements have been made to conduct the Feast of Low Sunday at the international pilgrim centre at Malayattoor, said Hill Top Rector Fr Xavier Thelakkattu here on Wednesday. Lakhs of pilgrims will throng the St Thomas international shrine during the Lent season, said Vicar Fr John Thekkanath of St Thomas Thazhethe Pally. The authorities have coordinated with various  government departments to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.Underground cables have been installed to provide sufficient lighting for the pilgrims who climb the hill top during night. Spacious parking areas have been arranged for the vehicles.  The temporary bus station of KSRTC buses will function at Vanibhathadam area and the temporary bus stand for private buses will be set up on the western side of Vanibhathadam. The tourist vehicles are allowed to park at Manappattu Chira. The service of Territorial Army with walky-talkies to assist the police has been ensured. Special warning boards have been erected on the river bank.
