Maharashtra polls: Chidambaram questions Modi's election campaign, good governance
"PM Modi is a intense campaigner. It's unusual for a PM to address 18 to 20 rallies in a state," said Chidambaram.

Mumbai: Former Union minister P Chidambaram on Saturday objected Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aggressive campaigning in Maharashtra and Haryana for the upcoming assembly elections. "PM Modi is a intense campaigner. It's unusual for a PM to address 18 to 20 rallies in a state," said Chidambaram.

Chidambaram further criticised the Modi government for not having any road map when it came to addressing issues such as steel, coal, mining, infrastructure, road, Maoism and terrorism. Further, Chidambaram expressed his displeasure at how unfortunate it was that people had rubbished Maharashtra's achievements in the past 2-3 weeks.

"Maharashtra is already number one in industry and banking sector. Leaders coming from outside are misleading the people," said Chidambaram lashing out at PM Modi.

Chidambaram accused PM Modi of forgetting that he was the Prime Minister of India. "He campaigns as if he is the PM of Gujarat," said Chidambaram.

Hitting out at PM Modi's good governance claim the former Union minister questions the absence of a full time defence minister that Modi government promised within 2 weeks of oath taking.

The state of Maharashtra is going to polls on October 15.
