LS polls: BJP manifesto in final stages, says Arun Jaitley
"The manifesto is in the final stages. We will inform whenever it is finalised," BJP leader Arun Jaitley said.

New Delhi: BJP on Tuesday said the work on its manifesto for Lok Sabha polls was in the final stages and the document would be finalised soon.

"The manifesto is in the final stages. We will inform whenever it is finalised," BJP leader Arun Jaitley said.

On alliance in Andhra Pradesh, the BJP leader said the party has not declared its candidates in the state, where elections are slated on April 30 and May 7, which was an "indication" that an alliance was on.

"Our talks are certainly on. It takes time in talks and no talk is cut-and-cry surgical. There is discussion and analysis. When talks are on, we do not discuss it in open. It is only when it reaches a conclusion that we discuss it," Jaitley said.

He said the relative strength will be evaluated before any decision is taken on seat-sharing with possible allies in the state.

Jaitley also hit out at Samajwadi Party for saying today that there should be a consensus candidate against Narendra Modi in Varanasi, saying it is an indication of their strategy but said it was no cause of worry for BJP.

He accused both SP and BSP of supporting the minority UPA governments for the last ten years and said such statements show what their strategy is going to be in the coming times.
