BANGALORE: Following allegations of misappropriation of funds under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), the Lokayukta sleuths raided the offices and residences of three senior officials of Women and Child Department (WCD) at various places.The raids were conducted on the offices and residences of former director Shamla Iqbal, Joint Director Usha Patwari and Assistant Director Muniraju in Bangalore, Mysore, Tumkur, Raichur and Bidar districts.Searches were also conducted at Cristy Fried Gram Industries and some anganwadi centres.In the raid conducted on the department’s office, the Lokayukta sleuths recovered documents relating to tender for supply of food, a CPU and three computers having documents of transactions under the ICDS programme. Meanwhile, documents of an MoU with the state government for nutritional requirements under the ICDS and two hard discs related to financial transactions were confiscated from the office of Christy Fried Grams Industry (CFGI) in Malleshwaram.    From the residence of Shamla Iqbal in the city, documents of properties and valuables, including 900 grams of gold, diamonds worth about `4 lakh, platinum jewels worth about Rs 1 lakh and bank deposits to the tune of Rs 65 lakh were seized. The sleuths seized 655 grams of gold, 10 kg of silver ornaments and Rs 4.90 lakh from Usha Patwari’s house. From Muniraju’s house, the cops seized 379 grams of gold, 750 grams of silver, Rs 1.70 lakh and documents related to properties in Mysore, Vijayanagar and Malur in Kolar district.A total of 1,600 supplementary nutritional product boxes were also seized from MSPC offices in Mysore, Tumkur, Raichur and Bidar. The Lokayukta police said the nutritional and supplementary food packets seized during the raids were of sub-standard quality. In a press conference, Additional Director General of Police of Lokayukta said the total value of the property and valuables seized was yet to be ascertained.
