LoC killings: BJP hits out at JD(U) ministers for not receiving bodies of slain soldiers
Deploring the absence of JD(U) ministers at the airport to receive the bodies of four slains jawans, BJP on Thursday alleged that the Bihar government was insensitive to the martyrs. "None of the JD(U) ministers had turned up at the Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on Wednesday night to receive the bodies of the slain jawans even as many of the ministers were present in the state capital as per information available to me," BJP Vice President C P Thakur told reporters.

"The grim occasion warranted display of sensitivity and solidarity with grieving families of the slain jawans, but the ruling JD(U) ministers were conspicuous by their absence at the airport that explains their insensitive attitude and lack of concern towards the aggrieved families," he said.

Thakur, who had airdashed to Patna on Wednesday night to pay tributes to the four jawans and attended cremation of one slain soldier Vijay Rai in his native village in Patna district earlier on Thursday, demanded a public explanation from the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for this.

Another senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh also came down heavily on the JD(U) ministers for not receiving bodies of the slain jawans at the airport and pay last respects to them as representatives of the people of Bihar as per the laid down practice for such occasion. Bodies of the slain jawans Vijay Rai (Patna district), Shambhu Saran Singh (Bhojpur), Premnath Singh and Raghunandan (Saran) were brought here by an Air Force special plane onWednesday night. The four jawans were among five soldiers who were killed by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir two days ago.
