Update: LG G3: LG launches its flagship phone with 2560x1440 pixel display in India at Rs 47,990
New Delhi: LG is all set to launch the much-awaited G3 smartphone in India today at its event in Mumbai. The LG G3, which is the company's new flagship smartphone, however, has already made its way to an Indian e-commerce store before the company officially launches it on Monday. The phone is available for purchase on Infibeam.com for Rs 46,990. The LG G3 is available in two models - 16GB for Rs 46,990 and 32GB for Rs 49,990.
LG's new phone has a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with 538ppi, which the company says is four times the resolution of HD and almost two times higher resolution than a full HD display. The LG G3 boasts a screen ratio of 76.4 per cent with thin bezels.
Running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with a clock speed of up to 2.5GHz. It has 3GB of RAM.
Its 13 megapixel rear camera with OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) includes the Laser Auto Focus system, which is claimed to shoot sharp images in a fraction of the time required by conventional phone cameras.
LG says the G3's 2.1 megapixel front camera incorporates several new enhancements such as a larger image sensor and larger aperture for more light throughput; the result could be your improved selfies. The company has added gesture controls in the standard timed selfie mode - when ready to shoot, simply clench your hand into a fist and the G3 will recognise the gesture and begin the automatic three-second countdown.
The phone has a polished metallic skin on the rear cover that is fingerprint-proof. The LG G3 comes packed with a 3,000mAh removable battery and 1W speaker.

- LG Tone InfinimTM (HBS-900): Developed in collaboration with Harman/Kardon, this Bluetooth stereo headset is built with retractable wire management technology and jog buttons for effortless search. It also features name alerts to verbally notify you who is calling before you answer.
- Wireless Charger: LG's Wireless Charger is compatible with Qi's wireless power charging technology.
