The party season is here, but your skin isn’t really in the mood to shine? This is probably one of the biggest worries every woman in Bangalore is facing. For ours is a city which is overflowing with vehicles and traffic jams. A concoction of the weather conditions, stress and pollution can prove to be lethal for soft and flawless skin. Kaya Skin clinic has created three special signature facials that promise to return the glow and suppleness to your skin.At the clinic, the first step is ‘investigation’. A qualified dermatologist will check your skin and its condition and then assess its requirement. Depending on what the skin demands, she will then suggest one of the three therapies which are an amalgamation of science and nature. The three treatments are —■ Ultra Rejuve: A pure mood elevating experience, this therapy brings the much needed freshness to dull and tired skin. The application of pure cocoa is one of the key ingredients of this therapy. Cocoa works wonders in bringing back the much needed freshness to the skin.■ Ultra Detox: A specially designed treatment for reducing the effects of pollution on skin thus detoxifying it. The special water jet which sprays a combination of high pressure water and air helps to not only drain the lymphatic nodes, it also exfoliates and infuses nutrients back into the skin.Ultra Youth: A perfect therapy to wade away the worries of ageing skin. The Ultra Youth therapy stimulates collagen and elasticity in the skin. The lymphatic massage technique caresses the skin with essential oils such as rose and geranium, wheatgerm, extra virgin olive oil and saffron extracts that stimulate the formation of collagen which in turn slows down the effects of ageing.  The ultra detox therapy has the potential to reduce the dreadful effects of pollution and stress on the skin. It also detoxifies the skin and relaxes the senses. Meanwhile earthy elements like Neroli and Patchouli help in unwinding. “Every skin type needs a routine. Cleansing, scrubbing, toning and moisturising. However, the conventional method for scrubbing is not advised for those with sensitive skin, as it further damages the dermis of the skin. This is when we suggest the ultra detox as it does not use any harsh elements to exfoliate the skin,” says Dr Tanushree Biswas, dermatologist at Kaya Skin Clinic. The therapy begins with a unique ‘jet technology’ that uses pure air and water to drain the lymphatic nodes and exfoliate the skin. The mechanism directs a stream of saturated micro-droplets of air and water which oxygenate, exfoliate, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. The high pressure spray of oxygen and saline water thoroughly cleanses the pores. Once the jet has done its job, pure Vitamin C serum is applied to the skin for ten minutes. The serum applied is quickly absorbed by the skin since the pores are open and cleansed. As the skin soaks in the antioxidants from the serum which help in removing the free radicals from the skin, it begins to induce a stretchy feeling in the skin. This happens as the skin is absorbing the vitamin serum. The jet comes handy once again. This time it is used to infuse natural brightening extracts of liquorice and arbutin (mulberry extracts). These extracts give the skin an instant brightness and a glow. The next step in the therapy is a relaxing massage which pampers the skin with the goodness of earthy Patchouli and the fruity Neroli essential oil cream. This massage reduces tension and anxiety while nourishing the skin at the same time. While the ingredients work their magic, the therapy expert uses special techniques to rid you of your stress and tension. Following the massage a mud pack containing nirolil, patchoulli, kaolin (helps in absorbing excess oil from the skin) and titanium dioxide (an important ingredient used in sunscreen) is applied to the face. The therapy is rounded off with a coat of sunscreen on the face.
