CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa High Court was paralysed on Wednesday after lawyers, expressing solidarity with Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption crusade and protesting his arrest, abstained from court work. Earlier in the day, the Orissa High Court Bar Association convened an extraordinary general body meeting which took strong objection to the manner in which Hazare and his team were arrested in Delhi on Tuesday. As a result of the peaceful protests, no court work could be done during the day. The lawyers also took out a silent rally from the association premises to the collectorate where they submitted a memorandum to the District Collector. They also wore black armbands to protest the action against Hazare and his team members. Work in Bhubaneswar courts also remained affected after bar association members observed cease work in support of Hazare’s crusade. The High Court Association will meet on Thursday to decide on the future course of action.
