THANJAVUR: Supporting the views of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, CPI State secretary D Pandian on Tuesday said the Prime Minister’s statement on supporting the US-backed resolution against Sri Lanka was ambiguous with lot of conditional clauses.“More shockingly there is no mention of war crimes and human rights violations by the Lankan President,” he pointed out. While applauding protesting Tamils all over the world for forcing the Indian government make an announcement, Pandian told reporters that the belated announcement by the Congress-led UPA had raised many doubts on what role the Centre would play at the UNHRC.Pandian also backed the CM’s decision to support commissioning of the Koodankulam plant and demanded that the entire power generated from it be given to TN. The State should initiate dialogue with protesters and demand that the entire 1,000 MW generated in the first reactor should be given to TN till the power crisis in the State was solved.
