New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan who is best known for his romantic films like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Veer Zaara’ and others, returns to the silver screen with late director Yash Chopra’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
Yash Chopra passed away on October 21, 2012. Deeply saddened with the sudden demise of Yash Chopra, SRK can’t stop talking about him. During a recent interview he revealed that the last song of the film was supposed to be shot in Switzerland, but they have cancelled the shooting. Shah Rukh said, “You don’t go to Switzerland without Yash Chopra.” However, Yash Chopra’s family plans to host a grand premiere of ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, exactly like Yash Chopra wanted.
While trade analyst are predicting that ‘Jab tak Hai Jaan’ can cross the Rs 200 crore mark, Shah Rukh Khan is keeping quiet and doesn’t want to comment on the number game. Probably he wants to play safe this time. He made huge claims about his last Diwali release ‘Ra.One’, however the film got mixed response from the critics and the audiences too. His last few releases including ‘Billu’, ‘My Name Is Khan’ and ‘Don 2’ too didn’t get the desired response. So, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ may end Shah Rukh Khan’s dry spell.
SRK tried to play various characters on screen in past few years, however his fans probably love him the most in romantic films. He will be seen romancing Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the film. His sizzling chemistry with Katrina is one of the highlights of the film.
Yash Chopra played a very important part in SRK’s career. His association with YRF camp worked for him and he managed to become the Bollywood Badshah. After Yash Ji’s demise, everybody is looking forward to his last directorial venture ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. So more than SRK, people want to see the film for Bollywood legend Yash Chopra now.
Another film being released on Diwali this year is Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Son Of Sardaar’. Obviously, Salman Khan chose Ajay and Sanjay over SRK. He has done a special number for the film. Do you think ‘Son Of Sardaar’ will affect ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ collections? Let’s wait and watch whether JTHJ succeeds in matching the expectations or not?
