KOCHI: The International Interfaith Dialogue India (IIDI) will conduct an International Interfaith Dialogue Meet here on January 28, 29 and 30, 2012.  The theme of the conference will be ‘Significance of Spirituality in the 21st century’. Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari is expected to inaugurate the function. About 60 scholars from all over the country will participate in the Meet.IIDI president M D Nalapat said, “This is an annual programme that has been conducted in Madrid, Geneva etc.  This meet will be the first-of-its-kind to be held in India. Eminent diologists like Karen Armstrong, John Esposito and Bishop Desmond Tutu are also expected to attend the Dialogue.”   World Fellowship of Inter-religious council secretary general Albert Nambiaparambil said, “It is not the end that needs to be the focal point, but spiritual experience all along the  journey during the pilgrimage.”  A representative of Swami Agnivesh from Delhi, Manu Singh said, “The Indian population, with 60 per cent of young generation, is groping in darkness for want of proper spiritual base.  This is an attempt to give a fresh lease for them in this regard.”
