BANGALORE: In a bid to improve the quality of infrastructure maintenance in various major buildings across the city, Saksham Training India Private Limited announced the launch of its first campus which will be set up in Dasarahalli in the city and will provide various courses related to infrastructure management. “In our country, we have students who study just one branch of engineering in their diploma’s or degrees, but infrastructure management combines aspects from many different disciplines. Our aim is to give exposure to every aspect of building maintenance,” said PC Pradhan, CEO and MD of Saksham in a press conference. Saksham will offer four basic courses in fields like Building Engineering, Maintenance and Fire Safety, Housekeeping services, security services and computer applications which will last for 2-4 weeks. The qualifications for the courses range from a diploma or degree in engineering to a 7th standard pass grade. The courses are priced between ` 3,000 to ` 6,000. “We shall tell them about the huge demand for building maintenance specialists in the cities and will train them to work better at their jobs,” added Pradhan. He also mentioned that Saksham would provide assistance with accommodation and placements. Saksham plans to increase its presence in the country by opening five more centres by 2013 in other cities like Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Pune, Navi Mumbai and Noida. “Our target within the next ten years would be to open 30 such centres,” said Amlan Dasgupta, VP, Marketing.
