New Delhi: Two Indian journalists were assaulted in Lahore on Thursday when they were working on a story related to the Mumbai terror attacks.
The attack comes even as the Indian government has warned its citizens against traveling to Pakistan.
Jujhar Singh, a correspondent with news channel NewsX and his cameraperson Tilak Raj were attacked by six men in Anarkali Bazar of Lahore.
Both lost their belongings including media equipment. A formal complaint has been lodged with Islamabad and the Indian foreign ministry spokesman termed the attack unfortunate.
“We strongly condemn the license that terrorist organisations continue in Pakistan. It is indeed unfortunate that such an incident has taken place. We are waiting for a report from our high commission in Pakistan,” MEA official Vishnu Prakash said.
The NewsX team has now returned to India.
