BANGALORE:  In separate incidents, two persons including a 12-year-old boy died after they drowned.A 20-year-old youth, who had gone to immerse Ganesha idol, died after he drowned in Kachohalli lake off Magadi Road in Madanayakanahalli police station limits on  the outskirts of the city on Sunday afternoon.The deceased Shivu alias Shivakumar, a resident of Byadarahalli, was a school dropout. He worked for a petty shop near his house.The police said that Shivu along with his friends had gone to the lake on Sunday at around 1.45 pm to immerse Ganesha idol. Before immersing Ganesha, Shivu told his friends that he would check the depth of the lake and jumped into the lake. He drowned while swimming. Later, his friends informed the matter to the police and the body was fished out. “The lake was very deep and even Shivu was not good in swimming. Though he did not know swimming he jumped into lake. This proved costly and his act took his own life,” the police added.Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case on unnatural death and are further  investigating in this regard.In another incident reported in Kurubarahalli in Basaweshwaranagar police station limits, a 12-year-old boy died after he drowned in a pit filled with rain water. The deceased Sandeep was a sixth standard student at a private school.According to the police, Sandeep and four of his friends had gone to Kempe Gowda ground at SVK Layout in the evening. As the construction works of Kempe Gowda Ranga Mandira is under progress, the pit was dug for installation of pillars, but was filled with rain water.  The gang of freinds allegedly tried to swim in the pit and eventually Sandeep drowned. Though he was immediately brought out of the pit and was shifted to a nearby private hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead.Later, the body was shifted to Victoria Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. Basaweshwaranagar police have registered a case in this regard and are further  investigating in this regard.
