Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday condemned the killing of seven civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district and vowed that he would raise the issue of India’s human rights violations with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

“Strongly condemn killing of innocent Kashmiri civilians in Pulwama IOK by Indian security forces. Only dialogue, and not violence and killings will resolve this conflict. We will raise issue of India's human rights violations in IOK & demand UNSC fulfil its J&K plebiscite commitment,” Imran Khan stated in a tweet. In a following tweet, he also emphasised that the Kashmiris must be allowed to decide their future.

PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti had also slammed the Governor and said no country can win a war by killing its own people.

Questioning the governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti tweeted, “…The admin has failed in securing civilian lives. Deepest condolences to the bereaved (sic)."

Massive clashes broke out between youths and the security forces on December 15 following the encounter in which civilians were injured and later succumbed to their injuries.
