Mumbai: Filmmaker Rohan Sippy, son of renowned producer-director Ramesh Sippy, doesn't want to remake any of his father's films.
Ramesh Sippy is known for his memorable films 'Seeta Aur Geeta', 'Sholay', 'Shakti' and 'Saagar', among others.
"I would always like to do original films. My wish is that I should never remake my dad's film, only then one would understand what is the difference between both of us. I would never want to touch my father's films," said Rohan who debuted as a director with 'Kuch Naa Kaho'.
"So many of his films were perfect. Where will you find actors like Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan together ('Shakti') in a film? Why would one want to remake his films?"
So far Rohan has directed four films, including forthcoming movie 'Nautanki Saala', and of them, only 'Bluffmaster' worked at the box office.
Not under any pressure, Rohan is proud his father has made some of the best films in Bollywood.
"Only my father has done it, no other director has done it. I am proud that my father has made the best films. The first century belongs to my father. Any son would feel proud about it. There is no pressure. I will keep working hard and make him feel proud of my films," he said.
He is currently busy promoting 'Nautanki Saala', which features Ayushmann Khurrana, Pooja Salvi, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Evelyn Sharma.
The film is slated for April 12 release.
