New Delhi: Well, the results are in, and it seems we still haven't had enough of the rugged, muscular hero. And the winner of the IBN Live Movie Award for Best Actor is -- Aamir Khan for 'Dhoom 3'.
If there is any actor who has proved 'typecasting' is an unacceptable word in Bollywood, it has to be Aamir Khan. The star, who has several diverse roles to his credit, wowed fans with his role in 'Dhoom: 3'. By playing an anti-hero, Aamir proved he doesn't want to be stuck in a particular genre. From his look, death-defying stunts and dance moves, Aamir can skip from one genre to the next with utmost ease. 37.74 per cent of the audience voted for him.
Aamir was pitted against Irrfan Khan (for 'The Lunchbox'), Dhanush (for 'Raanjhanaa'), Sushant Singh Rajput (for 'Kai Po Che'), and Rajkummar Rao (for 'Shahid').
Recreating old-fashioned romance in 'The Lunchbox', Irrfan beautifully portrayed the role of a restrained man who undergoes a change after he falls in love and brings out the desire to live through his character in the film. The audience gave him 24.02 per cent votes.
From learning Hindi to working on his diction, Dhanush made every effort to fit into Bollywood and stole the show in 'Ranjhaana' by playing a Hindu boy who falls for a Muslim girl. 22.47 per cent audience voted for him.
There could not have been a better debut for Sushant Singh Rajput than 'Kai Po Che' where he played a sportsperson who opens his own coaching institute. Based on Chetan Bhagat's popular novel '3 Mistakes Of My Life, Sushant was the life line of the film. 5.15 per cent of the audience voted for him.
Rajkummar Rao, who won the National Award for his role in the film 'Shahid', received 11 per cent votes from the audience.####
