MADIKERI: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that the state government was committed to the overall development of Kodagu.The CM, who landed at the Golf Grounds here on his first visit to the region as CM, told reporters on Monday that he would never sideline the district, as he was familiar with the people and place. He added that his visit to Kodagu was delayed, since he first wanted to resolve the Jamma row.He said that before finalising the budget for 2012-13, a special package of `115 crore will be added for the district. Sadananda Gowda said that like all other parties, the BJP too faced its share of tough times.While asked about a ministerial berth for MLA M P Appachu Ranjan, CM replied that he will be considered. He added that all 120 MLAs aspire for a Cabinet berth, while only seven posts are vacant.He was accompanied by District Minister Krishna Palemar and was welcomed by MLA Appachu Ranjan, BJP district president B D Manjuanth, Regional Commissioner, Mysore, M V Jayanthi, IGP Southern Range A N S Murthy, Deputy Commissioner N V Prasad, SP Manjunath Annigeri, president of CMC, Madikeri H M Nanda Kumar, Commissioner Shashikumar, state executive committee member M P Sunil Subramani and others.
