Hyderabad: Almost a week after twin blasts rocked Hyderabad, investigating agencies have not been able to collect more evidence and the progress to nab the culprits has been progressing very slowly. The investigators are still looking for an alleged terrorist Mehtab who allegedly provided explosives to carry out Hyderabad blasts.
Sources say that Mehtab provided explosive to Indian Mujahideen terrorist Yasin Bhatkal. Meanwhile, NIA teams have raided Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra but have not succeeded in finding any strong evidence.
At least 16 people were killed in a series of explosions on February 21 in Hyderabad's Dilsukh Nagar area. The two explosions took place in the Andhra Pradesh capital at around 7 pm.
Meanwhile, three days after twin blasts claimed 16 lives and injured 117 in Hyderabad, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday visited the injured in the hospital and urged people to "maintain calm in the hour of grief". Even as Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said evidence recovered from the blast sites were under examination, the National Investigation Agency questioned 12 men - believed to be members of the Lashkar-e-Toiba - arrested in Bangalore.
