Hunger-strike at Bolgatty Island

KOCHI: Registering its agitation over the delay in implementing the Mulavukad Road Project, the Mulavukad Road Development Committee organised a hunger-strike at Bolgatty Island on Sunday. Justice V R Krishna Iyer inaugurated the hunger strike. Addressing the gathering, Justice Krishna Iyer said political parties should stand united for developing the road. Committee chairman Antony Joseph presided over the function.     Though the Goshree Islands Development Authority prepared a project to develop a stretch of four-and-a-half kilometres, no step has been taken for acquiring the land required for project. The committee secretary Abhijith K John, panchayath member M J Tomy and block panchayath president Eliamma Isaac spoke.
