Puri: Twenty human skulls were recovered under a bridge on the Kusabhadra river on Puri-Konark road, police said.
Apart from 20 human skulls, three buffalo skulls and some bones were also recovered from the river bed under Liakhai bridge, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Nimapada, Subash Mohanty.
While the skulls have turned dark and blackish, some puja materials were also lying at the site, he said adding these have come to the notice apparently after fall in water level.
While the skulls and bones were suspected to have been brought by some tantriks or black magicians for their activities, exact fact would be ascertained only after a thorough investigation, the SDPO said.
