HYDERABAD: Seven students and staff of the Indian Iinstitute of Planning and Management had to be hospitalised after allegedly consuming contaminated food at a city restaurant on Thursday.According to Punjagutta police inspector K Ashoka Chakravarthy, nearly 48 students and staff members of IIPM went to the Barbeque restaurant on Road No 1, Banjara Hills on Thursday to attend a party hosted by one of their staff members.They reportedly ate at the buffet served in the hotel and soon nearly eight of them started to vomit and collapsed.All of them were shifted to the nearby Care Hospital where seven of them were admitted while others were given first aid. "The condition of the admitted persons is stable,' the inspector said.Meanwhile, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials collected samples of the food served in the hotel and sent them for laboratory tests to ascertain the cause of illness. No case has been registered."We will register a case after we get results of the tests conducted on the samples sent for tests,' Ashoka Chakravarthy said.
