Heavy rain throws life out of gear

HYDERABAD: Heavy rains lashed the city on Saturday evening flooding low-lying areas. Around 30 families from Pragati Nagar in Kukatpally were evacuated as their homes were inundated.Many trees and electric poles were uprooted in Sanathnagar, Balkampet, Erragadda, Kukatpally and few other areas on the outskirts of the city. The GHMC emergency cell had received complaints of fallen trees disrupting traffic and houses in Begumpet, Moosapet and Kukatpally inundated.Water-logging was observed in Himayathnagar, Srinivasnagar Colony in Ameerpet, Yousufguda, Malakpet, Masab Tank, Model House, Lakdikapul, NTR Marg, Chaderghat, Tilak Road, Gandhi Bhavan and Abids.
