"Four bodies were recovered from separate place in Raipur on Sunday and inquiry is underway to check the actual cause of the death," Raipur Chief Medical Officer (CMO) KR Sonwani told.

Prima facie it is suspected that they died of sun stroke but their postmortem report will ascertain the actual reason of the death, he said.

The maximum temperature from past few days was recorded around 45 degree Celsius in Raipur while Sunday saw the maximum temperature of 46 degree Celsius.

According to a senior police official, a 60-year-old woman, identified as Bhuribai was found dead at her home in Budhwari Bazar of Gudhiyari area on Sunday. She was living alone at her house and it is suspected that she succumbed in absence of drinking water, the official added.

Two other deceased were identified as Manglu Yadav (35) and Jeevan Lal Vishwakarma (37), he said adding, the identity of a youth who was found dead at Pandri bus stand premises was yet to be known.

While Manglu was found dead at railway station premises, Jeewan Lal was found dead under a tree in Urla area, the official said.

According to Met officials, the state will experience more heat in the next few days. "As of now we can't predict anything. Monsoon is already delayed. It could take more time or can reach within few days, all depends upon favourable conditions," Director Regional Meteorological Centre M L Sahu told.

The monsoon was likely to hit Bastar (South Chhattisgarh) by June 10 but looking to the current situation it seems that it will take more time, he added.
