The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday launched a blistering attack on Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over his controversial remark on RSS, saying that he goes abroad only to defame India.
Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh said, “To know about RSS, Rahul Gandhi will have to take many births. A traitor cannot know RSS.”
“Those who go abroad and criticize the country cannot know RSS. It seems that Rahul Gandhi goes abroad only to defame India. Rahul Gandhi will not be able to understand RSS in this birth. RSS is born from the values and culture of India,” he added.
Addressing the Indian diaspora in Texas, US, Gandhi remarked that RSS believes in one idea of India, whereas, the Congress party believes it to be a multiplicity of ideas.
He further added that BJP and RSS’ idea of women is to restrict them to home and kitchen for cooking food. “While we believe that women should aspire and lead us in every sector,” he added.
“The RSS believes that India is one idea and we believe that India is a multiplicity of ideas. We believe that everybody should be allowed to participate, allowed to dream, and should be given space regardless of their caste, language, religion, tradition, or history,” he said.

Gandhi further stepped up the attack by saying that this fight (against the BJP and RSS) was crystallized in the Lok Sabha election when millions of people in India clearly understood that the ‘Prime Minister of India was attacking the Constitution of India.
He also spoke on how he had described ‘Abhayamudra’ in his first address to parliament and the BJP could not stand it. He noted that Abhayamudra is a symbol of fearlessness and added that it exists in every Indian religion.
Recalling his first speech in parliament, he said, “That is why in my first speech in Parliament, you must have noticed when I described Abhayamudra this, the fact that this is a symbol of fearlessness and it is present in every single Indian religion. You go on the internet and you can see every single Indian religion. Guru Nanak holds his hand like this. Shiva holds his hand like this. In every single Indian religion, the hand is like this, it is a symbol of fearlessness and when I was saying this, the BJP could not stand it, they don’t understand it and we are going to make them understand.”
