BANGALORE: State JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy has accused Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa of facilitating acquisition of a cement company by his children through fraudulent means.
"This fraud has taken place when Yeddyurappa was the deputy chief minister [and] in charge of finance portfolio in the JD(S)BJP coalition government between 2006 and 2007," Kumaraswamy told presspersons in Delhi on Wednesday. He issued a press note which claimed Yeddyurappa's kin acquired Ratna Cements in Belgaum district and that they evaded taxes illegally.

According to Kumaraswamy, Ratna Cements in Belgaum district, could not pay the principal amount of `4 crore term loan and interest to KSIIDC. He described how Yeddyurappa's children acquired the company. More Misuse Kumaraswamy alleged that the company ventured into illegally acquiring mining lease for limestone in an area of 1,417.5 acres in Yadwad village, Belgaum district, after Yeddyurappa took over as the chief minister. "Ratna Cements was taken over by S N Kilaru and his son K Gopi Prasad, who are associates of APbased BJP leader," he said.
