KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday dismissed the bail applications of two key accused in the Marad case. Justice KT Sankaran passed the order while considering the bail applications of Nizamudheen, the 148th accused, and KP Koyamon, the 95th accused.The public prosecutor submitted before the court that the duo was absconding for more than 7 years. They have surfaced only recently and the petitioners did not surrender but they were arrested.If they were released on bail, they would flee from justice, the court held.The court further stated that releasing them on bail will derail the case. The accused participated in the conspiracy which resulted in the murder of eight persons on May 2, 2003."A wider angle of the conspiracy and financial sources need to be ascertained, for which the presence of the accused is necessary,” the prosecution added.
