KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to file an objection on the constitutional validity of the Kerala Public Ways (Restriction of Assemblies and Procession) Act, which the court had stayed recently.A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice P R Ramachandra Menon passed the order in a contempt of court petition filed by Khalid Mundappally of Aluva. The petitioner sought a directive to initiate contempt cases against DGP and other police officials for permitting DYFI to conduct a meeting in Muvattupuzha. The Court directed the state to file a counter affidavit within four weeks.
