KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed the Travancore Devaswom Board to file a statement regarding the arrangements being made in connection with the Shivaratri festival in various temples under the board. The court also asked the state government, the Aluva municipality and the Pollution Control Board to make necessary arrangements for the construction of the temporary bridge across the Periyar in connection with the festivities.The court directed the authorities to ensure that the stakeholders addressed the environment issue while disposing of human remains in the form of bones and ash in urns in the Aluva river. The court observed that the previous court orders in connection with the disposal of human remains should be revised appropriately.
