New Delhi: The North-Western railway has diverted/cancelled /partially cancelled many trains passing through Rajasthan as the protest by the Gurjar community over inclusion in the Schedule Tribe list has spread across the state.
Even some areas in the other states neighbouring Rajasthan are also tense and protestors have burnt many railway stations and have uprooted the railway tracks.
The protestors have also blocked some highways passing through the state even as a group of Rajasthan ministers and a 10-member Gurjar delegation try to resolve the issue.
The first round of talks were held on Thursday morning between a 10-member Gurjar delegation led by Karnal Kirori Singh Bhainsla and a group of five ministers of the Rajasthan government.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister B S Rajawat, who was leading the governemnt delegation, said the meeting was held at the Dausa circuit house and lasted for about 90 minutes. He said that both parties would now apprise their leaders of about the talks.
