THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government may make crucial changes in the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education in the wake of the errors in the publication of Higher Secondary Examination results.Sources in the General Education Department said that the government would effect major shuffles in the Directorate.There are chances for replacing Board of Higher Secondary Education Secretary B K Vijayan in view of the errors. Action is also likely against other officials in the Board.The decision will be on the basis of the report submitted by DPI APM Mohammed Hanish, who holds the additional charge of Director of Higher Secondary Education. The report is learnt to have concluded that the lack of coordination between the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) had led to the fiasco. The report has blamed both the NIC and the HSE Directorate for the errors. It has also mentioned the lack of adequate manpower in the HSE Directorate.Chief Secretary P Prabhakaran told Express that the State Government would study the report and examine whether there were lapses on the part of any officials. If any lapses are found, action will be initiated against those responsible.
