Google revamps search app for iPhone
Redesigned interface and tweaked up search arrives for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad device.

Mumbai: After a long time, Google has pushed a totally revamped search application for the iPhone. The new Google Search app, which carries a redesigned interface, promises faster search results, spruced up image search and simpler access to other Google services from a single screen. The new Google Search App v 2.0.0 is available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad running iOS 4.2 or higher.

The app comprises of the native search as well as Google search along with shortcut to other Google services. Google has revamped the Google Search app interface to make it appear and relate to its current range of web products and services. Apart from cosmetic face lift, the Google Search for iPhone has been tweaked to deliver faster results.

Auto completion of the keywords is comparatively faster in this version of the app and the users can quickly swipe back and forth between webpages and the search results. Image search has been optimised to suit the 3.5-inch Retina Display of the latest iPhone and iPod touch. The image search results will be displayed in a grid format. Users can quickly swipe between the images after tapping on a single image to view larger version of the thumbnail.

The most important change is the clearly bifurcated list of the Google Web apps and native apps. That pane shows Google Web app icons in a grid format than a list.
