The Gionee Elife S5.5 features a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED plus screen, a true octa-core 1.7GHz processor, and a 13 megapixel rear camera.

New Delhi: Gionee has announced the launch of the Elife S5.5, which is believed to be the world's slimmest smartphone, in India at Rs 22,999. The phone will be available in India starting from April 27.

The phone has a thickness of 5.5m and weighs 130g. According to the company, the Elife S5.5 is crafted with a metallic frame and Corning Gorillas Glass Uni-Body. "It uses the world's thinnest AMOLED Screen, thinnest PCB board with a 0.6MM and 0.4mm glass rear cover," said William Lu, President of Gionee.

The ELife S5.5 is equipped with a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED plus screen, a true octa-core 1.7GHz processor, a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel 95 degree ultra-wide angle front-facing camera.

It will be available in Black, White, Blue, Pink, and Purple. The Gionee Elife S5.5 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Gionee's Amigo UI.

The Elife S5.5 was unveiled during the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
