CHENNAI: RG Stone Urology and Laparoscopy Hospital organised a free medical camp on September 4, as a part of their 25th Anniversary Celebrations, at the hospital premises in Anna Salai. The patients were given free medical consultation up to Rs2000 on problems related to kidney, gall bladder and ureteric stones, enlarged prostate, hernia and other urological diseases, by Dr Ram Kumar and Dr Deepa, from the hospital. Along with this, free ultrasound and blood test was also carried out for the patients. Among the 110 people who registered, 84 were screened for ailments. 12 prostate patients, 31 of them with kidney stones and ten suffering from Gall Bladder stones were detected during the camp. 31 patients had normal study in the camp. RG Stone Hospital has a place in the Guiness Book of Records, for being the first to treat a kidney stone as large as 13 centimetres. They are also pioneers in Lithotripsy & 100 watt Holmium Laser in the country.
