BANGALORE: Four persons were electrocuted and one was injured in an accident in Madiwala police limits late on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Shalini (19), her elder sister Sandhya (23), Narendra (30) and Madhusudhan (40). Shalini and Sandhya were from Vellore, Tamil Nadu, and the two men were from Orissa. Shalini was an employee of a private company and Sandhya was a tailor at a garment factory.
Narendra too was working at a garment factory and Madhusudhan was a carpenter. The incident occurred at Muniyappa Layout in Hongasandra.Details She said she soon heard Shalini screaming. Sandhya rushed to rescue her and got electrocuted herself. Jayanth Misthri, who was passing by the house, too tried to rescue them. He was the only one who survived. He has been admitted to St John's Hospital in Madiwala and is out of danger. Bommanahalli MLA M Satish Reddy visited the spot. He said the incident might have occurred since there was neither proper grounding nor any MCB equipment. He said he would discuss with the government to get some compensation for the families.
