CHENNAI: The body of a fisherman, who was allegedly attacked by a six-member gang, was found with stab injuries at New Washermenpet on Friday. Sources said Ramesh (40) of VOC Nagar in Tondiarpet, was found dead near Nagooran Gardens. The body bore multiple injuries. A police team led by ACP Naveen Chandra recovered the body and sent it to the Stanley Hospital for postmortem.During inquiry, it came to light that Ramesh had several cases, including attempt to murder, registered against him. Police said that he was attacked and killed by a six-member gang when he returned to shore after fishing. The Kasimedu Harbour police are on the lookout for the culprits.
