KOCHI: The Public Works Department has taken up the repair and maintenance of 19 roads in the city under the Kochi Road Project. PWD Minister, V K Ebrahim Kunju, said that the work would be carried out in two phases.In the first phase, the maintenance of 19 roads would be carried out spending `450 crore. This includes the Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road, its North extension (Kaloor-Pottakkuzhy Road), south extension (K P Vallon Road), Karshaka Link Road, Vyttila-Tripunithura Road, Fort Kochi-Chellanam, Edakochi Road, Edakochi Bund Road, Chilavnoor Bund Road, Kumaranasan Road, Mathai Manjooran Road and Salim Rajan Road. The second phase, for which `120 crore has been earmarked, will focus on seven roads. This includes SA Road, its west extension, Stadium Link Road, Padma-Pulleppady Road, Goshree-Mamangalam Road, MG Road and Banerjee Road.
