THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thirteen LDF youth organisation activists, including DYFI state treasurer K S Sunil Kumar, were injured in clashes with the police in front of the Assembly on Wednesday. The injured activists have been admitted to the Thiruvananthapuream Medical College Hospital. The youth organisations had taken out a march to the House on Wednesday morning raising the pension age issue, but were blocked by the police. A few activists broke through the barricade and tried to barge into the Assembly premises, but were stopped by the police. The rest of the activists were scattered by the police, who turned the water cannon on them. Left organisations and the police had clashed on Tuesday also after the former took out protest marches to the Assembly. However, a separate march taken out by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) to the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon went off peacefully.
