New Delhi: Delhi University on Monday announced its admission schedule for the under-graduate courses for the coming session, keeping the option open for implementation of OBC quota.
The pre-admission forms, the sale and receipt of which will start on June 1 and will continue up to June 15, will comprise a column where the students belonging to OBC category would have to make a mention of it.
"The quota matter is under the consideration of the apex court. But we are gathering the data of the OBC students so that if we get any direction from the Ministry of HRD on the quota matter, we will act accordingly," PTI quoted Prof S K Vij, Dean of Students Welfare (DSW) of the university as saying.
He also said that the process of expansion of infrastructure for implementing the quota will continue.
At present, the varsity is making an assessment about its requirements on implementing the proposed quota and a detailed proposal on it will be submitted to the government.
Meanwhile, the university has introduced Optical Mark Reader system in the pre-admission forms this year, doing away with the carbon-less copy since it led to confusion in certain cases last year.
The varsity has decided to provide a map of Delhi showing the location of various colleges in the information bulletin that will help the students coming from far off places to trace the college of their choice or the university campus.
