NAGERCOIL: A forty-oneyear- old man from Kerala was found dead under mysterious circumstance near Nagercoil on Saturday.Police sources identified the victim as George Thomas (41), who worked as a car driver with Kerala Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Dinesh Sharma. Eraniel police, who got information that the body of a man was floating in the Aikiyankulam irrigation tank located near Thottiyodu on the Nagercoil- Thiruvanthapuram NH, rushed to the spot and recovered it. The police also recovered a helmet in the tank.“When we examined the dress of the deceased, we found a license in his trouser packet, which revealed his identity,” said Eraniel police.The police suspect that George, who was riding his two-wheeler, might have lost sight of the road owing to the heavy rains on Friday and would have ran into the tank.The police have registered a case under 304 (A), cause of death due to negligence. The body was handed over to the relatives after a postmortem. Thomas is survived by wife Kala and two children, Tom and Jerry.
