CHENNAI: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently issued an order stating that it will certify the movies shot digitally without insisting on the celluloid film, as was the case till now. This was revealed at the Media and Entertainment Business Conclave inaugurated in the city on Thursday. The revelation came soon after S A Chandrasekaran, president of the Tamil Film Producers Council, asked the organisers of the conclave to appeal to the Union government to do away with the old procedure. Later during a session, L Suresh, honorary secretary of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, said the new CBFC regulations were issued more than a week ago. According to the new guidelines, the digital cinema copy itself will be enough to issue certification, making it easier to release the digitally-made flicks.
