THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the controversy over the alleged manhandling of a woman Watch and Ward staff in the Assembly, T V Rajesh MLA has now found himself at the receiving end in a report submitted by the DGP, who probed into the alleged manhandling of a police officer at Venjarammoodu by the MLA. The report was submitted to the State Government on Tuesday. According to the report, Rajesh was also held responsible for insulting a woman constable in addition to manhandling the officer on duty, T Thomas,  attached to the Highway Police.The MLA’s car was stopped by the Highway Police team at Venjarammoodu on September 30 as the driver of the car was not wearing seatbelt. On finding that it was the MLA who was inside the vehicle, the officers let them proceed without imposing a fine. But when they tried to note down the registration number of the car, the MLA and his fellow travellers, S S Binu and Sajad, charged out of the car and manhandled the officer and also insulted the woman constable. The DGP also termed as baseless the allegation raised by the MLA that the police officials misbehaved with them as there was no evidence available to prove his allegation.
