With President's rule in place in Delhi, the offices of the former ministers were on Friday put under lock and key, while officials and employees deputed with the various ministries had been asked to report back to their parent departments from the coming week.
According to government sources, this step was impending after Arvind Kejriwal-led government had resigned on February 14 as Jan Lokpal Bill could not be introduced in the assembly following stiff opposition by the BJP and Congress.
"There were 20 to 50 staffs deputed with each minister in the AAP government. Majority of them were taken out from their departments concerned and put on deputation with the Ministers.
"Now when ministers are not in their offices, these staffs have been asked to report back to their parent departments," said a source.
Apart from them, a large number of staffs from Delhi Administrative Subordinate Services (DASS) and stenographer cadres posted at Delhi secretariat have been transferred to Lt Governor Secretariat, given the fact that all Delhi government's decisions are now being taken from this office.
Officials, who had been transferred, were told to join the Lt Governor's office with immediate effect and that no formal relieving order is required for the same.
Central rule was imposed in Delhi on February 17 and the Legislative Assembly has been kept in suspended animation after President Pranab Mukherjee accepted the resignation of Kejriwal.
