  • Many domestic and international flights delayed.

  • Cancelled flight: Delhi-Mumbai Spice Jet scheduled to fly 130 passengers has been cancelled. This after the flight was rescheduled twice since Monday evening. Passengers stranded at the airport for almost nine hours.
  • Others: Seven domestic and one international flight have been cancelled. These include flights to Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Jammu and Srinagar.
  • Delayed flights: Nine international and 10 domestic flights delayed.
  • Trains: Several trains are running late. Shaheed Express late by eight hrs, Howrah Express late by three hours, Northeast express late by 12 hrs.

New Delhi: The Capital woke up to a cold and foggy morning as the temperature in the city was recorded at eight degree Celsius in the early hours of Tuesday.

Flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International airport have been disrupted due to heavy fog, which enveloped the national capital for second consecutive day, with about 18 flights – including eight international - being delayed and nine being cancelled.

The general visibility at the IGI airport fell below 50 m and runway visibility range (RVR) dipped to less than 100 m, bringing flight operations to a halt.

Nine early morning flights to Jaipur, Bangalore, Srinagar, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Leh were cancelled, they said.

Over 200 flights were delayed and 19 cancelled as a heavy blanket of fog surrounded the capital on Monday. (With agency inputs)
