Dehradun: A suspected henchman of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, wanted for murder, kidnapping and extortion in Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested in Nainital district of Uttaranchal.
Chenghez Khan, believed to be a "sharpshooter", was arrested on Tuesday from a house in Lal Kuan area, police said on Wednesday.
The police sources said Khan was living in the rented house along with his brother Shamsher for the past one-and-a-half years under the assumed name Shahid Ali.
His neighbours got suspicious about his lifestyle and the "unwanted elements" that visited him and informed the police about it, they said.
During sustained questioning, Khan "confessed to being a member of the 'D' company run by Dawood Ibrahim", they said adding that he was wanted in several cases of murder, kidnapping and extortion in neighbouring UP.
His brother Shamsher was also being interrogated for possible links with the underworld.
