Mohammed Peerbhoy suspected of involvement in Delhi blasts in 2008.

New Delhi: Mohammed Mansoor Peerbhoy, a computer engineer who is alleged to be a key operative of the terror outfit Indian Mujahideen, was Saturday sent to 10 days policy custody by a court here.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaweri Baweja passed the order after agreeing with the Delhi Police's contention that they required to interrogate him in connection with last year's September 13 serial blast in the capital.

Peerbhoy, who was arrested by the Mumbai Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), was brought to Delhi on Friday.

Peerbhoy’s lawyer opposed Delhi Police's plea, stating that investigations into the case had already been completed.

Peerbhoy has been accused of sending a terror e-mail to media outlets minutes before the September 13 Delhi bombings that killed 24 people.

Peerbhoy's revelations are expected to give the police insights into the role of suspected Indian Mujahideen plotters Riyaz Bhatkal, his brother Iqbal and Amir Reza Khan, all of whom absconding.

Peerbhoy worked with a multinational software company in Pune and earned an annual salary of nearly Rs 10 lakhs. He allegedly hacked unsecured WiFi networks in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai and sent e-mails to TV news channels minutes before the July 26 Ahmedabad blasts and the Delhi bombings.
