CHENNAI: A Tamil film producer lodged a complaint with the Greater Chennai city police commissioner seeking action against Kollywood actress Bhuvaneshwari alleging that she had cheated him to the tune of Rs 10 lakh. The complainant, M Kumar (37), who runs a film company in Vadapalani, alleged that the actress had taken the money to produce a teleserial. He said that they had signed an agreement and she had promised to return the money in two months. The complaint also stated that the actor had even shown Kumar two episodes of the serial and gave him a cheque for Rs 10 lakh. “I deposited it in the bank but it was returned. I sent her a legal notice but she failed to respond. She sent four persons, who claimed were her lawyers to my office when I was in Singapore and threatened my office staff to withdraw the case,” he said. Cop Let Out House for Running Brothel?A constable was placed under suspension on Friday for allegedly letting out his house to run a brothel. Suba alias Nancy, a pimp, had been arrested during a raid at the house on Siddhi Vinayagar Koil Street, T Nagar. Interrogations revealed that the woman was running a brothel at the house leased out by Harikrishnan, a constable attached to the Ayanavaram police station.
