CHENNAI: All the schools, including Anglo-Indian Schools in the State, are bound to collect only the fees fixed by the Fee Determination Committee, the Madras High Court has ruled.Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar gave the ruling, while allowing a writ petition from a student of the Doveton Boys HSS on Wednesday. The judge observed that the school, having been given recognition as per the Code of Regulations for Anglo-Indian Schools, it was bound by Article 69 of the Constitution and could not collect more fee than the one permitted by thedepartment/competent authority. Allowing the writ petition, the judge directed the school to collect the fee fixed by the committee and permit the petitioner to continue his studies.
