HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's proposed visit to Delhi to take part in the National Security Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on September 10, has gained significance in view of the prevailing political situation in the state.The chief minister is expected to meet Union minister and incharge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel to discuss the longpending cabinet expansion. After the merger of Chiranjeevi's PRP with the Congress, it was almost decided to offer two berths to PRP members in the Kiran cabinet. MLA G Srinivasa Rao and MLC C Ramachandraiah are likely to be inducted into the cabinet.
The chief minister may finalise the date for cabinet reshuffle only after getting green signal from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, who is expected to return this month.Issues pertaining to resignations submitted by 26 proJagan MLAs, ongoing CBI probe into Jagan's illegal assets case, forthcoming Banswada byelection were among those which would come up for discussion at the meet between Kiran Reddy and Central leaders. Kiran Kumar Reddy will also meet coal minister Jaiswal and petroleum minister S Jaipal Reddy to discuss coal linkage to thermal power plants in the state and supply gas for power projects.
