The verbal duel between the chief minister’s camp and Telangana MPs continued even on Monday.
D Rajeswara Rao, MLC, took strong exception to the remarks of Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud that some Congress MLCs were hurling choicest abuses on Telangana MPs just to impress the CM. Yashki was a broker and had done nothing for the good of the Party in the region, Rao said.
Meanwhile, apprehending that the on-going verbal duel between the Telangana and Seemandhra leaders would spin out of control to mar the electoral prospects of the party, senior leader KR Amos and Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu on Monday jointly made an appeal to their party colleagues to exercise some restraint on the issue state’s bifurcation.
“Leaders from Telangana and Seemandhra regions have already left the decision on state’s bifurcation to the Congress high command. The AICC leadership is seized of the matter. If leaders from both the regions take potshots at each other, that will only make the issue more complex. We therefore request the Congress leaders from Seemandhra and Telangana regions to show some self-restraint,” said Amos and Vishnu.
